Maiale Torpedo
Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Vray
The iconic Maiale "Pig" Torpedo was known for its service throughout the second world war. They were makeshift manned torpedoes used as secret naval weapons by the Italians and British to attack ships in enemy harbors. It was nicknamed the "pig" because it was difficult to steer. Two divers would ride on rough fabricated seats towards the target, the front end was a detachable warhead and was released for use as a limpet mine. If they were not detected, the operators then rode the mini-sub away to safety. This project was a major learning experience for me not only for advancements in modeling, texturing, and rendering but education in our history as well.
